Sleep Apnea – What is its Symptoms

Breathing pauses or shallow, erratic breathing while you're asleep are symptoms of a sleep apnea disorder. These pauses can occur multiple times per hour and endure for a few seconds to several minutes. If breathing stops or becomes shallow, there can be a drop in blood oxygen levels. This often results in the brain waking up during sleep to either resume breathing or prevent the oxygen levels from dropping any further.
